Filling a car with fuel probably depends on a well that someone had to drill, seal and keep flowing. Weatherford works on that hidden step. Oil and gas producers, mostly outside the United States, hire it to build wells, drill them and keep them producing as they age. It earns money in two ways: crews and specialist work at the well site, and equipment that producers buy. The Middle East and North Africa is its largest region.
