Turn on a tap and, somewhere, a pump pushes the water while a valve controls how much flows. Power plants and other industrial sites need far bigger versions to move liquids through their processes. Flowserve designs and makes those pumps and valves, and the seals that stop them leaking. Its customers include engineering firms building new plants, equipment makers, distributors and the plant operators themselves. Each machine can earn money twice: once when it is sold, and again for years while it is kept running.
