The chips in your phone may have been made in a factory that relies on Entegris. Chipmaking stacks and etches layers so fine that a speck of dust or a trace of impurity can spoil the result. Entegris sells what keeps that work clean: filters for the liquids poured onto wafers (the silicon discs chips are cut from), sealed containers for costly chemicals and carriers that move wafers between machines. Its main customers are chip factories, mostly in Asia, with Taiwan the largest market.
