Exxon Mobil Corp (XOM) - Stock report

Exxon Mobil Corporation is an integrated energy and chemicals company. It produces crude oil and natural gas, refines them into fuels and chemical products, and sells specialty materials such as lubricants to transport, industrial, and consumer customers across the United States and most other countries. The work is split into four parts: Upstream, which finds and produces oil and gas; Energy Products, mainly refining; Chemical Products; and Specialty Products. Exxon Mobil earns revenue by selling high volumes into global markets, but its profit rises and falls with commodity prices, refining margins, chemical spreads, and its own costs.

In the second quarter of fiscal year 2026 revenue reached $116 billion, up 42% from a year earlier, and profit was $3.48 per diluted share. The consequence is direct: the integrated system is again producing large profit, driven by higher prices and margins rather than by size alone.

In the first six months of fiscal year 2026 Exxon Mobil produced $32.3 billion of operating cash and, after $13.0 billion spent on wells, plants, and equipment, kept about $19.3 billion. It used that to pay $8.6 billion of dividends and buy back $10 billion of stock, so those returns rise or fall with the cash.
