On a first day at work, a new employee logs in and finds email and shared files open, while the finance database stays locked. Someone decided which doors that login could open. At many large companies, that decision may run through SailPoint's software. It controls which employees, machines and AI agents, meaning programs that act on their own, can reach which systems and data. It also keeps the records that show auditors the rules were followed. Customers pay recurring fees for it, mostly to use Identity Security Cloud, a service run over the internet.
