NVIDIA Corporation designs graphics processing units (GPUs), chips that perform many calculations at once, plus the networking that links them and the software used to program them. The buyers are organizations that build and run AI systems: the largest cloud companies, AI clouds, and industrial and enterprise customers. Large purchases can run over several quarters. NVIDIA's CUDA software platform runs on all its GPUs and comes with hundreds of libraries and tools that the company says make AI easier to deploy. In the second quarter of 2027, the Compute & Networking segment generated $88.3 billion of revenue and Graphics $7.9 billion, out of $96.2 billion in total. NVIDIA’s 2027 reporting year ends in January 2027; year and quarter labels follow that calendar.
Supply and capacity commitments jumped from $119 billion at the end of the prior quarter to $279 billion as of July 26, 2026, mainly for memory and manufacturing facilities. NVIDIA says they secure supply for the next several years. Some supplier agreements can be adjusted before firm orders are placed, but NVIDIA warns it may be unable to reduce these commitments if demand differs from its expectations.
In the first half of 2027, net income was $118.0 billion and was $117.3 billion. Gains on equity securities lifted net income. Those gains depend on the value of NVIDIA's investments, not on product sales, so operating income better reflects how the products themselves are doing.
