A lift pass clipped to a ski jacket is where this business begins. Vail Resorts owns and runs mountain resorts in Colorado, Utah, Lake Tahoe and the Pacific Northwest, including Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia. It also has regional ski areas near large US cities, three in Australia and two in Switzerland. If you have skied in the American West, you may have ridden one of its lifts. Most of its lift access is sold months ahead as passes, and the Epic Pass, its season pass, opens every resort in the network. Guests then spend more once they arrive, such as on equipment rental.
