The second quarter of fiscal year 2026 produced $119.8 billion of revenue, up 24% year over year.

Google Cloud revenue rose 82% to $24.8 billion, while operating margin expanded to 34% from 32%.

First-half operating cash flow of $84.9 billion was almost entirely absorbed by $80.6 billion of capital spending, leaving $4.3 billion of ReasyPort-calculated cash after capital spending.

The key operating issue is whether the next wave of AI infrastructure spending produces incremental profit and cash beyond the already-proven profitability of Google Cloud.

That burden matters because cloud growth must offset central costs and the very high capital-spending requirement without weakening group margins or per-share outcomes.

Alphabet has described itself as AI-first since 2016, centralizing certain AI research to support its businesses. Its key operating dependency is converting AI and computing-infrastructure investment into user engagement, cloud demand, monetization, margin, and cash.
