Celestica builds electronic hardware for other companies, mostly networking, computing and storage equipment. In the third quarter of 2026, sales surged and margins thinned while it spent heavily on new capacity, partly funded with new shares.
When you stream a film or ask a chatbot a question, the request probably travels through network switches and servers in a data centre. Celestica may have built some of that equipment. It makes and services electronic hardware for other companies, turning their plans into finished, tested machines in volume. More and more often it also helps design them. A smaller part of the business serves aerospace and defence, industrial, healthcare-technology and capital-equipment customers.
Customers pay Celestica for engineering, manufacturing skill and managing the supply of parts; the end product belongs to the customer. It keeps only a thin layer of each sale, and how much depends on how efficiently its factories run and how much design work it supplies. The main engine is CCS, the segment selling networking, compute and storage hardware. In the third quarter of 2026, CCS earned $433 million of operating profit, before interest and taxes, on $4.9 billion of sales, several times what the smaller ATS segment, which serves those other industries, made. After shipping, Celestica also repairs equipment, processes returns and resells old IT gear.
